Safeguarding

St. Mary’s and St. Luke’s recognise that all aspects of our work with children, young people and adults when they are vulnerable are the responsibility of the whole church community.

We commit ourselves to the Gospel message of welcoming all and reaching out to the most vulnerable. We aim to nurture, protect and safeguard all our members, particularly our children, young people and adults when they are vulnerable.

Our policy and procedures aim to protect children, vulnerable adults and those who work with them. There will be clear lines of accountability and reporting procedures for safeguarding and we will keep our policy and practice guidance as simple as possible

We are committed to safeguarding as an integral part of the life and ministry of the Church; we aim to ensure that all aspects of the House of Bishops’ Policy, ‘Promoting a Safer Church (2017), are promoted and adhered to by all those who serve God within our church.

Any suspected abuse of children or adults or concern for their welfare must be reported to the Vicar or the Parish Safeguarding Officer.
